Baileyana Firepeak Pinot Noir 2014

Baileyana Firepeak Pinot Noir is a ruby red in color with a heavy, ruby red stain. The wine is super bright and is very pretty to look at while held up to light. The nose of the Firepeak Pinot Noir is powerful and voluptuous. Bright cherry and subtle hints of cherry pie lift from the glass. Spiced aromas of vanilla, tarragon, and sage.

On the palate the Firepeak Pinot Noir has a medium-plus body mouthfeel with fresh cherry and vanilla leading the way. This wine screams California Pinot Noir and delivers the quality you would expect from America’s number one wine region. Soft velvety tannins and low acidity, along with the fresh cherry characteristics, makes this wine as soft as a baby’s tush. The mid palate is full of spices like tarragon and sage, blended together magically. The Firepeak Pinot Noir delivers a soft finish that lingers for a minute, leaving hints of cherry and vanilla clinging to the breath. Cheers!

This wine is created from our top Firepeak blocks from our Estate vineyard at the base of Islay Peak in the Edna Valley. The single coolest growing region in California, only a few miles inland from the great Pacific, the Edna Valley allows for the fruit to leisurely ripen on the vine. The mature fruit brings even, full ripeness each vintage, along with balanced acid and sugar levels, helping in Christian’s effort to make a Pinot Noir that embodies what makes our estate and the Edna Valley so special.
