Columbia Crest H3 Les Chevaux

Review By Eric Tansey, CSW, Sommelier                                                                                              Columbia Crest H3 Les Chevaux is a dark, inky purple wine that smells and tastes exactly how it looks. Big, robust aromas of overripe strawberry, vanilla, and milk chocolate powder, imagine a packet of Swiss Miss with the tiny marshmallows inside it. On the palate, the Columbia Crest H3 Les Chevaux is huge, full bodied, jammy, oaky, and a definite crowd pleaser. Blackberry jam, followed by vanilla and again that hot coco powder, layers the palate and clings to your teeth. Light acidity and smooth tannins make the wine so soft that if you don’t pause to think about it, you might quickly find yourself falling off “Les Chevaux” due to the masked, higher alcohol content in the wine.

A perfect wine for Bonco night, or a party, it’s easy to find, has a low price point, is simple and big– all of which makes this an easy go-to for those larger gatherings. I think everyone can leave with a smile after this jam fest. Cheers! Columbia Crest H3 Les Chevaux

Les Chevaux, (French for “the horses”) is named for the wild horses that once roamed the Horse Heaven Hills. This lively red blend presents rose petal aromas and dark fruit cherry flavors, followed by smooth tannins that lead in to a vibrant finish.
